OK I think I may have asked this question a while ago but here we go anyway.  How many of you have decent mileage up on ya STANDARD TC88 eg over 30,000km and have you had any problems so far ?? From memory last time I asked not many folk had ridden very far.

Have now done over 35,000 on my 03 WideGlide and it's not missed a beat or had a hiccup! It's one of last carburetted models incidentally.

It's good to hear when someone has put some of k's on these things with no problems.

Yup,I think it was all to do with noise reduction for EPA laws. But on the upside it's really no big deal to check and replace them if need be. I haven't checked mine yet and I'm not sure but you might be able to get a look at the outside tensioner by taking the nose cone off ?? (Scotty)

Yeah that sucks Grotty, if the oil pump was stuffed why wasn't there any damage done to the motor ?? What sort of oil have you been running in it ??

Was it expensive to replace the cams?

my dad has an 02 softy standard. he did about75 before chainging to gear driven cams, the only reason he changed (well so he says) was cuase we all kept leaving him behind :-) he is still on his original belt, i think he is close to 100k now, and except for a dead battery he hasnt had any problems at all.

Great to hear the good stories for a change. Dont forget any mechanical beast can, and will have issues at some time. My brother in laws Ducati has broken down twice since he bought it new a year ago. He'd be lucky to have done 3000 k's. I am looking forward to putting many, many k's on my Deluxe. Have done nearly 10,000 in less than six months....

Good to here M8 just keep it and buy another one, it takes time to build some character on them so they look like your own bike. There is a local bloke here that has about 130,000km on his 04 Dyna. I don't think he has ever bathed himself or the bike and sometimes I can't tell which is which, thats what we should all be aiming for IMO LOL.

    Yeah I agree Peter.
They need to look like they have been ridden.
    Ya gotta love the Ratbikes.
