Hey fellas, hoping someone can help me out here, I recently got an Arlen Ness Derby sucker, but the shop was out of the rain sock (pre-filters), so I had to order one from Rollies speed shop in QLD (I'm in Sydney). It arrived but is the wrong size, it's for a stage 1, and so I guess the Derby Sucker is stage II since the sock is too small. Anyway, I called them up about it, they don't have any in stock, and were not really helpful on how i could get one, the guy wasnt even sure if one existed.

So my question, does anyone know where i can get a derby sucker pre-filter from? and secondly, do I really need it? I'm doing a Melboure - Great Ocean Road - Melbourne F1 - Sydney ride on monday for the better part of 2 weeks I guess I'll have to put the stock one back on unless someone can help me out?

appreciate any ideas if its needed or not, or where i could get one without waiting on US postage...

Thanks guys, I went with Choppersmad's idea and used some of the wifes finest. Worked a treat, got a fair bit of rain on a couple of days, was also great for keeping the dust out when we ended up doing 60km of dirt road.

Hi all, I also run a arlen ness big sucker on EFI 103. on purchase was told no rain sock available, not needed. Is this true ? Been looking for answers in the forums. A lot of comments on bad performance in wet weather with rain socks on...ever tried breathing thru a wet bandanna ? impossible !.. but no comments on running without one. Been told a bit of moisture in the pots is actually good for clearing carbon... or can it cause damage ? I would appreciate any thoughts and comments on the subject, Thanks, Fletch. PS Maybe I just need to get out an get wet to answer my Qs.
