Just wondering how others clean their bikes, I read kingchops thread that he had electrical probs after washing his bike
Has anyone discovered a miracle product for cleaning ?
I dont use a hose to wash Iv'e got an Enjo cloth coz you can just wet it & wipe your bike over with it then I use a good chamois for drying
Then for polishing I use polyglaze glide on glaze on the paint & chrome it comes up a treat.
Some of my mates don't use any water at all they use mr sheen on everything
On ya Dazza isnt cleanliness next to godliness
Some in the deep south use cow shit, blends in with the country side and smells like home.............

I use standard turtle wax wash in a pressure cleaner.. leave it for 5 mins.. or about a stubbie.. then chamois dry or a quick blat around the neihbourhood for a air dry.. then Mr SHEEN..{regular} on everything....brings chrome up like new and on the alloy rims.. a tube of autosol polish its time consuming but cheaper than getting a pro to buff..
Rubber conditioner on the belt ????
Brite Shine on the chrome, and i have just tried the tyre shine on my engine for all the black bits after reading about it here on the forum, and it's fantastic.
I used lots of products but the best would be either mothers canuba or Auto Glym - deep resin polish - it comes up real sweet. Chrome i use prepsol , come up brand new. For the alley i use purple polish ( strange name i know but it works better than autosol or even bright shine ).
You want to use a silicon free polish . Only polish when it's under 24 degrees otherwise the wax fills in the pores. For the brakes i use throttle body / carby cleaner.
there used to be this product called - son of a gun - used on the black bits comes up sweet
Why dont you sell the rest to a mate who owns a jappa?. A mate who works at Elite Chemicals told me about ct-18,20. Why dont you go into a chemical/cleaning shop or a detailer and ask them what they use. We have a detailer here on the forum listed under the business section.
If you want to get burnt boot or any other crap off your pipes or any of the chrome bits,I use Burnishing steel wool. Its for Burnishing of timber and it works a treat and wont scratch the chrome at all as it is very fine.
polyglase waterless wash is good on all surfaces. Squirt it on wipe of the shit then wipe of the residue.
Chrome glass and paint comes up like new. I use it on my bike and my wife's black car. Takes minutes and looks like a full polish job.
it's around $8.00 a spray bottle and you get plenty of washes. then Mr Sheen on the Chrome pipes and rims ,I live near the bay and the silicon protects the chrome.

Being a newbie I still have a lot to learn in keeping my FatBob clean. Previous owner used Meguiar's gold class to wash the bike and warned me to stay away from products containing wax as they dont mix with the Black Denim apparently. As for the Chrome I cant remember as I was too excited in getting the bike. And after reading here I will give the Mr Sheen ago this weekend.
Any other tips would be great as the bugs are big and the roads are crap out here!
Hey xcited. Don't use anything on your denim other than water and dishwashing liquid as per owners manual.I'm glad so many have recomended Mr Sheen for the shiny bits as it's easily acquired. pete.
