I have read about guys repairing cracked crank cases on boats. V8 car and deisel engines. It a two part epoxy resin that works for years after the repair. The touring oil pan are cheap around $ 110 bucks but it would need to be ordered from Melbourne. I would drain the sump lean the bike over and give it a good clean and then JB weld it.

 Thanks for the sick weekend everyone - talked to deadwood & he has sorted scottys choppers to weld his sump in the morning!

I might look into a sump guard after seeing that. Baker makes a larger oil pan for the tourers but the stock HD ones are cheap.

.Great ride home,no rain.Bugger not knowing about deadwood,he would have been there when we came through and we could have had another night on it. We had a great time once again and enjoyed seein the people we met last year and the new ones .I hope my voice comes back soon.( Granny loves it, he thinks he's home alone.)  I got the call from DW at around 10.30 he was 20ks east of Armidale at the Hillgrove Rd junction with a major hole in his oil pan.

Yerp; Bottomed out over the dog fence cattle grid on the Armidale grafton road maybe 20k's back down the track 

It is a large grid about 2 meters long.

DW asked what his choices were and if I could assist in any way ,so I got on the PH to a couple of local mates.

With in the hour my buddy Sleek was on site loading the broken bike on the ute, he drove from uralla and 100k's round trip to help out just because a fellow rider was stuck.

Then I spoke to Scotty and he will be having a look at it 1st thing Monday,he was out of town today.

If the best bike builder and welder in the country can't sort it no-one can.The man is a metal magician.

These blokes are the reason us locals go to the Uralla run,they are some of the nicest people you are ever to have the privalidge ..

 

DW said that he was fortunate for it to happen where it did.I would have to agree...
