Hi just pulled out a 4 inch nail which was imbedded in my rear tyre, thankfully it did not puncture the tyre  my question is this will it be still safe to ride around with or will i need to buy another tyre.

ps. The nail was imbedded on the side.

Thanks guys i guess i will be buying a new tyre very soon, i've nearly done 8000 km on it anyway. What is the average price of a rear tyre fitted.

I get around 12000 to a rear tyre(200mm softail) but I paid over $400 at Gasoline Gulley

Personally, if it's still holding air, I'd keep riding it.

If it was the front tyre, I'd replace the bugger.

Put a tube in it if your worried!

I would replace it, much cheaper than a trip to the Hospital or worse.

How cashed up are you, nothing worse than a high speed blow out. Until you get it fixed I'd stick to legal speed limits.

I've been running with a plug (not in the side) and it has not been a issue. It was a new tyre at the time. But if had done those sort of kays and your not sure just change it, it will make you feel more relaxed. Shit if I get a flat I'll just phone robo to pick me up!

Rear 200 Dunlop should be about $350 fitted.
