while i dont WANT to sterotype women , i thought this was the best place to post .
i made skippy tail stew not long ago ... basically substituted beef with tail in a recipe .. used a slow cooker . It was nice but i thought it missed something .. some "zing" ...
anyway , throwing it out there any beef stew recipes that have that "zing" .. got an occasion coming up and i want to try it again
Unfortunately it's just a case of experiment. I usually give a good shake of Worcestershire sauce in the pot?? It's down to spices.... and what you like, or how spicey people like their food
give it time and im sure a few regulars will give it their best shot
grew up on skippy tail soup
best bet was mix in a can of some bough tcambells vege soup or beef soup
wont over kill the flavor just help it out
still love it (but kids love skippy bugger)

Try some chuck steak in your stew, i usually find it makes the best stew and don't forget to make your homemade stock, it makes a world of difference start by browning your beef bones in the oven as well as you carrots, onion, celery and once brown in oven deglaze with a good quality red wine, place in pot with cold water and simmer for 6 hours then decard beef bones and mirepoux of veges then brown chuck steak in pot sweat onion in in pot and add veges and bayleaf cook for 2 hours until tender season with salt and pepper to taste.i usually add garlic tobasco and tomato past and worchester sauce i also like to serve it on a bed of sour cream mash.
