Got a 'Hellbend' lowering kit for a 2008 RK off flea bay. These kits lower the bike by moving the shocks back and down. Wasn't sure if they would do the job so - asked the question. Helbend replies "should be able to use them". Then when I try to fit them up I find that they foul on the saddlebags. Hellbend replies - "Hi, thank you for letting us know. In our experience, we have been able to reshape the bags using a heat gun, not sure if you tried that or not. Thank you for bringing this to our attention though. Let me know if I can help with anything else, thanks." WTF !!! --- Just saying.

Hey I'm a total newbie, thinking of starting a custom project on a Sportster... my problem is I have two mates - one says I should only get Harley parts ("why would you spend all that money on a HD then put crappy non-genuine parts on it?") and the other reckons all parts are the same, the only difference is the Harley badge. What should I do? Is there much difference in price or quality?

Looked at the thread and bypassed hellbend for macs. Steel is higher carbon and will ditch their nuts and bolts and source my own (handy when in fastener supply) higher spec.
