Boof went on a poker run today and was involved in a big accident on the Western Hwy.  Happened not long ago and, at this stage, it looks like there have been 5 fatalaties.  I was supposed to go on that ride with him, I would've been on the back!

A heap of bikes went down,a lot of injured riders in hospital,I didn't hear of fatalities.

Boof is okay, sore shoulder because had to shoulder someone back who was headed for him. Other than that, he's fine. Minimal damage to the bike, a small dent in the front mudguard and scratches on the left crash bar. I got a message from a friend who volunteers with the CFA/SES in that area who told me there were 5 casualties, which I misinterpreted for 5 fatalities. My bad!!! The casualties (so Boof tells me) are broken bones ... about half a dozen men and women with broken arms or legs and one man who has a broken jaw and nose. Thank goodness that all those people are safe.

The pack was travelling in the right hand lane of the highway and a marked cop car pulled out on them from the left, which is what caused the accident. Just for everyone's information, there was no cop presence on the ride!

Yeah, it happened just up near here.  Near Ballarat in Western Victoria.
The local radio station (3BA) announced it straight away and they said there was 5 - 6 casualties all sent to different hospitals and all in stable condition.

Went on this run, good to hear that there were no fatalities considering that it happened at considerable speed.  Hope those injured have a speedy recovery.

was a good run and everyone up until the incident ( imbeing very diplomatic  here)

had a great day      im pleased the correction was made about casualties  not fatalities

as i was also on that run  my wife and son  were riding,   at this stage  all casualties are non life threatening 

but there will be months of recovery for my brothers involved

 

a great days ride  ended  by constabulary  resulting in 5 people hospitalised

at this point they doing there best ,one wonders what excuse they will come up with

all witnesses say the involved motor vehicle was in front of the leaders tapping his brakes 

and turned into the middle medium strip as if to cross over and suddenly in a cloud of dust was amongst the rest of the riders

they  have impounded all bikes involved in the incident

bet they tell some lame ass story and turn the blame back on the riders,what they got nothin better to do than harras us every time we go out,just venting sick off being followed ever time i go out for a run,just hope they tell the right story.all the best to those involved and speedy recovery.
