Fatbob Floorboard Conversion.

After many requests elswhere on this forum (well, one anyway ! ) here are the pictures.

You need these splined Kuryakyn adaptors, Part No 8881 at US $18.74 a pair.

These are the floorboards, also from Kuryakyn.  Part No 4351 at US $136 a pair.

The floorboards are adjustable to five positions, and then in each postion they can rotate on the splined adaptor.

A board with the adaptor fitted

A cap screw goes through from the back of the board when folded to lock the splined adaptor in the desired position.

Due to the adaptors being slightly thinner than a Harley peg, I used two "D" washers to prevent putting too much pressure on the peg mount when the bolt is tightened up.

The board folds up without touching anything (depending which hole you mount it in), and can still fold up somewhat on the original Harley peg mount.

And there you have it.  I bought two pairs from M & M in case I wanted to do the pillion pegs.  Everything was delivered for  just on one hundred dollars in about five days. Fantastically comfortable with very little loss of ground clearance, again dependant on which hole you mount them in.  The brake pedal is even easier to reach, although I did have to lift the gear lever up one spline to get my foot under easily.

Funny you should say that.  I bought two sets as I was going to replace the pillion pegs as well, but I asked at Kuryakyn if they fit sportsters, and apparently they do.  My wifes bike might be getting a set tomorrow.

Finally got a chance today to take the bikes out and see how the boards are.

    Getting ready to leave home.

    Karen sitting at the servo.

This is my "you'll like the floorboards or you"ll get one of these " poses. (Not really,, do you think I'm stupid !!!)  We are both very happy with them.  No increased clearance problems over the roads we usually ride.

     Gday Fat Tim,

Just joined the forum a week ago. I just bought a new Fatbob, love it. I stumbled across your thread re- footboard, great stuff. Could you tell me the part number etc and the all up cost of the boards, and are they adaptable to the passenger peg mounts?  Like your ride mate really nice. Do you have both headlights rigged for low/high, if so how did you do it. I looking to do that although numerous information out there. Cheers Cactus

All the prices and part numbers are under the pictures above.  I ordered them through M & M cycles in the states.  The mounts make them adapatable to rider or pillion, but I used my second set on the wifes bike.  The headlight is simple, just get a US model, where both work on high or low beam.  The beam spread is "neutral", that is is doesnt shine to the left or right.  On seconds thoughts, not that simple as you cant get genuine parts from the states easily anymore.

    Cheers

they are LEATHERWORKS bags from the states.  Only place I could find that did white bags.  They used to have a distributor in Australia, but he quoted around 1500 bucks, and I got them by emailing the nearest dealer to the bag maker and asking if they could send out a set.

Cost about AU 700 bucks delivered.  That included the quick detach mounts and the indicator relocation kit, and chrome plugs to fill the holes from the indicators.

Looks amazing. I just ordered a pair. What is the brake pedal pad that you are using? Is there any special conversion that you had to make? Or was it another bolt on application?
