Hi ya Jilli... and if I can pull my swag out then you'll know another person too
... oh and drop me a line if your having difficulty pulling together some funds, I'll throw in a fifty for ya!!!!
Thanks guys, much appreciated but it should be all good.
I'm planning to ride straight to Edenhope for the weekend, then ride over to stay with a good mate in Melbourne, then head back up the Coast way via Newcastle.
Probably take 2 weeks off work to make it worthwhile
So, I'm looking at the route I will need to take and its roughly 4,000kms Will start from Toowoomba and ride down the National Hwy, through Goondawindi, Narrabri, Dubbo, Hay, Swan Hill, Horsham to Edenhope. I'm planning on leaving Monday morning and taking my time so I get there on Friday. I'll stay overnight somewhere about every 5 or 6 hours, do a bit of sightseeing along the way. Then I'll spend 2 nights partying with you fella's and ladies of course and head back to Melbourne with the Vic crew, stopping at my mates in Altona Meadows for 2 nights. I'll leave her place Tuesday morning and head north to Newcastle, probably stay overnight on Tues and wed nights along the way, then stay 2 nights in Newcastle. From there, ride to coffs, stay 1 night, then home by Sunday night. I reckon I will need Monday off work though, what do you reckon? lol!! I think I might need some encouragement, advice and info about places to stay etc cause this will be my longest ride yet. HELP!! hahaha!! Bring it on!!
trip of a life time i recon
ok
I will be there Wayne. I should arrive around lunchtime.
Cheers, JB
Im coming fish cant wait for the jelly wrestling how are you going with that
Me again, unfortunately I will have to pull out this year.
I was so looking forward to making this trip this year but I will try again next year and I WILL get there one of these days
Dunno if you're interested in politics (I'm not) or if you've been hearing about the masses of job cuts in QLD Governement and Non-governement services?
Anyhow, the program I work for has just been informed that a third of our funding has been cut and we are about to face a reduction in our service and job cuts. So, as the manager of the service I will have to see it all through, I will be the one reducing the service, cutting the staff, negotiating with the remaining funding body etc all before I am made redundant
Thats he reason I can't get the extra time off. I'm still taking 4 weeks off but have to be back on deck by the 5th Nov.
Will probably do a shorter ride up north so I can be back in time. The program ends Dec 30th, I should then have a month or so to finalise everything before I get redundancy (I'm guessing thats how it will go)
So, my new plan is, as soon as I redundant ($$ in the bank) I'll be planning a round trip of Aus over about 4 months.
Hope to meet up with heaps of forumers along the way. ALL THE BEST FOR EDENHOPE 2012
Cheers Jill
Well I s'pose I'd better get my shit together!
I'll wing it for a room Mick, as I do.
Well I've had a shit 3 months with 2 family members and 2 friends (OZ included) passing away. I then got an offer of redundancy after 26 and a half years and thought fuck it, lifes too short.
I've taken the pay out so I can relax and enjoy life for a while. I've been tossing up whether to go down on the run for a while now so I thought why not, no excuses now!
Missus said off you go then (again ).
This week is bike service and sort gear for ride. Next week take the bike to Darwin for 2 new tyres.
All set then.
