What is the best way to get black fork sliders? I have a powder coater in town. What is involved if this is the best way to go. Can't seem to find any on the open market to suit my Night Train.

I have been wanting the black fork lower legs for sometime now, checked the prices at the stealers and they wanted close to $500 bucks, fuck that I said to myself.

So I have now taken the front forks off the bike, rubbed back and sanded off all the shiny lacquer which is on them so they are now all scuffed up ready for etching, primer and black topcoat with the 2pak paint.

Handle bars and risers are now painted black as well, that will stop getting blinded by the sun when I ride the bike with all that shit chrome which was on there.

I did all that on my Dyna Rocky but it didn't handle the stone chips after a while so I pulled them apart and got them powdered and they are much better now

You' probably be better off getting them black anodised, no residue in vital areas.

Am thinking of doing the same to my train. Is there much involved in stripping the forks?

No it's pretty simple, having a service manual helps.
