Electrical fault

Went out for a ride yesterday and all was going good until the bike just died,

all lights, blinkers, horn everything works but nothing at the starter switch,

it's like the kill switch has been switched off,

I have checked the switch and there is no power to it,

there is power at the ignition ( grey wire goes to kill switch) but no power at the join in the wires at the bass of the handle bars,

so under the tank I'm guessing is where the problem is,

is there a fuse or alike under there

    any ideas

    regards Stumpy

Crank sensor near the oil filter probably shit it self. Take it out and give it a clean before replacing it.

Haven't PLAYED with any other harleys than my own, no fuse on mine, sounds like a connection fail, you are going to have to lift tank and look. (I take it that there is power leaving the ing; switch??)

Crank sensor, ??????????? I will have to look into that one,
    thanks Hogbag

Rxes, I have power to the switch but thats as far as I have got, I will download a wiring diagram today and check it out

I have changed the bars but all wires are soldered and they were the first things I checked

When the sensor fails that's fairly common the ECM has no signal telling the injectors when to open and close squirting fuel. they can be cleaned and work fine for a while but could fail again so Carry a spare in case it shits again. I posted some info on finding fault codes last week so check it out and see if the engine logged a fault code.

    hahahahahah
sorry old skool, I'm the same, 50 this year and losing my eye sight,
plenty of voltage everywhere, all blinkers, lights brake lights everthing but the starter
starter button wont do anything, like I said it's like the kill switch is turned off
thats why I'm thinking it's a wire from the ignition switch to the starter button or to the kill switch,

    cheers

Ended up taking the tanks off and found the problem,
the power wire to the kill/starter switch had let go,
    so all is good

thanks for all your help guys
