Long time storage taking the weight off the suspension, putting a timber block underneath the centre of the frame along the cross member between motor and gearbox. Is this going to put any stresses on the frame etc

just make sure the valves on the tyres are at the top the air will stay in your tyres longer

Your tyres will probably loose a lot of pressure sue to lack of use, the molecules in the tube/tyre are not being disturbed and as such will allow the air to seep past. That's why you see tyres on push bikes deflate without use over a period of time. The oil will drop down into the motor over that period, so drain your oil tank and put the battery on trickle charge, (if you have a battery booster then that's better) Other than that have the bike covered to keep the dust off.

Could always find a mate to come over and check on it and take it out for daily "walks"

I was told to just wash and polish the bike, throw a blanket over it, plug in a battery maintainer and thats it.

I have had to leave my bike for months at a time and Ive never had an issue.

My only other advice is to make sure wherever you leave your bike is always going to be completely dry.
