Hope Harley follow suit, thats pretty good price. Dont mind that Hammer either
Had a good look over them today still not convinced on the look ,they say to ride before making up your mind , but if it dosn't look rite its not for me.good price though.
yeah, their cheap orite, good price to
Nah won't be getting one of those instead, or any other way in in lieu of my Sportster & I really like the new 1200c with the wide front wheels. & there's a heap of other bikes with soul that I'd be looking at before those chintzy cruisers.
looked at them sat on a hammer did not like feel. & the headlights style not right. but up to you.
when the Indian comes here i'll look at that. but i don't like look of motor i like to see those pushrods & intake. i'm sure they go well with a motor that size., but Ducatis go well too i would buy a Darvil you can see what your money is going on like carbon, magnesium Ohlans Brembo & so on all top quality. its like the difference between a Arlean Ness run Beauty Parlour, or a Gym the Victory comes out with all the make up on, the Darvil come out the Gym fit & rareing to go. but i still like the Blackline or the Wide Glide but have not ridden any. i got plenty of time.
Not sure I see the point of the comparison between the High Ball and a Sportster.
If you wanted to buy a Commodore, for example, and someone pointed out that a Toyota was cheaper, would you care? Probably not because you know what you want and it isn't a Toyota.
Just my $0.02
FatRob
20k is pretty close to the price of a 48 or 1200 custom. But FatRob I like your example, and your $0.02 worth.
Value for money maybe; but that's for people who decide they want 'a motorcycle' and sit down to analyse ALL the factors on a spreadsheet. But for me, I can't get past the pug ugly look of the Polaris. And the Commodore/Toyota example sums it up beautifully.
(I'm told) the Jap Cruisers ride beautifully too, are super reliable and great value for money. I can't fault the Japs on their engineering skills and as good as Jap cruisers may be, I simply don't like 'em.
I test rode a Polaris once and I'll probably test ride another, why not? But it didn't set my World on fire, it was just another bike and an ugly one at that.
They're just too 'modern' and Jap looking for me to spend any time checking my sums and wondering "What if ?".
I would rather eat a shit sandwich
i just wish the dealer would send a team to challenge HD at the track. like all i hear from people is how fast Victory are . so like the old Holden v Ford. or HD v Indian of the old days.
Screaming eagle V Victory. i would love it .
Harleys stand on their own reputation. They're the yardstick; other bikes are compared to Harleys in much the same way modern Muso Artists are compared to the Beatles or Elvis.
Others have sold more records or did this or that better, but they're still being compared to the legends of the game. To each their own but for me the Polaris is plain & simple PUG UGLY so it doesn't rate a consideration at any price.
I like the look of the Victory bikes
Smart knocking Sportys when they are the main reason HD is still around.
Personally I like the Victory's asides from the ugly exhausts. Swap them and you have a nice looking reliable bike and a motorco who doesn't treat their customers like a dumb piggybank.
