Quote from original poster"
Well, bugger me. I just got evicted from the Motorcycle Expo at Broadbeach cos I was wearing colours. There is nowhere on their advertising that prohibits backpatches. I rode in past the carpark security - they said nothing. I walked through the foyer past security - they said nothing. Neither did the bloke who sold me the ticket. Nor did the two security people on the entrance door who took my ticket and let me in. ... ... It was when I was about 3/4 round when the largest security bloke I've ever seen asked me if he could have a word. 'Wearing colours not allowed. You can take them off, turn them inside out - or leave'. The first two options weren't - so I went for option three. And he escorted me from the building. I insisted on a refund and got it - without too much trouble. They didn't want an elderly veteran cutting up rough. The ironic thing is, I was just telling Tex that he and his dog Bundy would be more than welcome at The Bunker at any of our shows etc so he could fundraise for Prostate Cancer. Doing the right thing and I got chucked out. Well, in their arse with a broom. $5 for parking and $20 each for admission to a show that isn't half it was last year, is not good value for money. Couple that with the horrendous traffic on a very hot day - and a better option is a ride up the mountains
My fave bike in the whole show was that Beemer sidecar combo. That and the bikes at the 'Convict Cycles' display. Here's a few cheesey shots from the iphone:
My kinda trike
Polaris taking 'ugly' to another level
Leather wrapped Chopper
The beautiful old Beemer combo (check the indicators)
And the Owners; they'd also been booted for wearing colours so spent their time invading Broadbeach
