Freedom Reward Miles

Can anyone tell me how the HD Freedom Reward Miles program works? I have read that they are accrued on a one per dollar spent but what can you spend them on. Do they cover labour as well as the price of the item? Is one point the equivalent of a dollar?

    Cheers in advance.

At my local dealer i get the option of  a 10% discount off the marked price or use the freedom rewards for 1 point for every dollar spent, then save them up and cash them in and use them to pay for a service or other parts, sounded good to me at the time.

So I used the rewards points when I had my bike serviced, new rear tyre, factory saddle bags, brackets, back rest etc. All up 4000 and something points in a little over 5 months.

Now this is the bit I don't understand, I went in yesterday and purchased some bling just under $400 worth, so I asked can I use my rewards point to pay for it, no worries I was told, then I paid $180 odd dollars for the bling and the rest using all of the 4000 points. Now it takes me a bit of time sometimes to think about things but if I had got the 10% discount on 4K of goods and services that would be $400, since I chose the rewards I got about 5%.

Moral to the story IMO the rewards are not worth it with you only getting half the discount you can get without it.

Thanks for your reply. The part that has me stumped is that on the site it says you can use it on parts, service etc the in brackets says percentage. So I am thinking if I have 6000 odd points I can't just get cams and stuff installed without some cash chucked in.
