i recently recirved a letter from the E.P.A , stating my exhaust is too loud , i would like to borrow or by an original  2nd hand system  but cannot find one and i dont want to buy a new system  just to pass an E,P.A test it would cost more than the bikes worth . any one out there with some ideas of how to quiten the bike down . , maybe baffle the muffler thats on the bike ?. some good advice would be muchly appreciaterd , cheers .  adam .

ive tried every where i can think of to borrow a set but no luck yet / i got a letter in the mail saying that i was on potts road and my bike was too loud . bloody slimey sneaky copper ii didnt see him . .

I'm running a Supertrapp end cap on my Bassani 2-1 road rage. It's simple to remove a few discs to bring the sound down to 80 to 90 decibel but with 21 discs closed end cap I'm getting a full exhaust flow and around 95 decibel. The reports that maxheadflow done with the same system as mine run on a dyno showed 2 HP difference between a open muffler and the trapped muffler. I started a thread 12 months ago with photo's etc but got no replies on it so from memory I caned the thread after a week or two. I should be able to send them tonight when I get home. It's a easy mod that works very well for less than a hundred bucks if your good with the tools.

Maybe give some idea of your whereabouts...It might help if people know where you are if they have some to loan you....

Doesnt have to be a copper that dobbed you in, any member of the public can notify the epa - same with smokey exhausts etc........

 im in the south eastern suburbs of melbourne near frankston . if any one knows where i can borrow / purchase a cheap original 2nd hand exhaust  system or has some other remedy to my problem cheers people , yours hopefully , adam . .
