     Hey all,

So this winter I am planning a custom paint job on the fatty and would love to get the frame done also, but having never pulled a HD completely down... Is it a bitch of a job worth doing?.

    Anyone done this??

done it heaps mate but if ya frame dont need it dont do it once stripped then gotta blast old coat off paints ok but depends wat ya paint with 2pak is best do you want pretty murals on frame ect or just to make it different colour
if ya want to change colour look at dulux website an check out the powdercoating colours may be the better way to go i just coat the ones i do as they are everyday riders an not look ayt me weekenders

    Thanks old mate!!

I am more worried about the pull down and rebuild than the actual painting. Powdercoat is the preferred option of course. :)

    Cheers

I am yet to pull down my bike, if i were i would make sure i have : The manual, a camera, and plenty of boxes ranging from small to large so i can write on the box what part it is and where it came from... Well i say thats what i would do, but i've always been gifted like that, throw it all into one box, stir and reassemble putting every bold back in its place, to this day i still dont know how i do it....but yeah do whatever works for you to make the reassembly easy.

Yeah - I am starting to think it will be too big of a job that I want to take on. It will also mean more time for the bike off the road. If I work black into my paint scheme, it might not look too bad.
