Angry, There is one sitting at Mildura in the Harley shop, it had POLICE on the panniers but no blue and red lights, had an air adjustable seat and was white, I didn't look to see what year it was but don't think it was that old

Act police had about 6 HDs built for them. I don't know if they are still in service or not. Most of them I have seen are riding the Yamahas.

Dunno, could be... but there's a Cop on a civilian bike (Kwaka I think) getting around Mt Tamborine and he wears the dark blue riding gear with only the shoulder patches indicating he's on Team Blue. And he's bookin' people.

Lotsa unmarked vehicles gettin around SEQ right now; saw a white Hi Ace type van with a ladder on top pull over a f*ckin' dickhead a while back. Plain white, a ladder and tiny red & blue disco lights flashing madly. And then a ute with a canopy same thing. Very subtle, very cunning.

I'm pretty sure I heard on the news near the end of last year, or was it the beginning of this year, that a few white HDs were being used by Police for "special duties", like dignitary escorts and shit. They were not, as far as I know, going to be use in an official capacity on the roads as in bookin' people.

The HDs weren't built for ACT Policing.  HD were trying to get into the Australian police market and had a donor bunch of bikes for free trial, in order to try and attract business.  In the ACT the bikes were found to be unsuitable for police function (inferior acceleration, braking, handling to the Japanese and BMW tourers traditionally used).  No purchases have been made Australia wide to my knowledge.

They had larger engine displacement and increased clearance among a few other things.

On my ride back to Adelaide from N.S.W., i saw a Victorian cop in a black ute with red and blue lights on the dash pull over someone.

So I spoke to a bike cop yesterday at the Canberra Show, and he confirmed that they sent the HDs back to HD. Said exactly as what is stated above. The handling was the issue, plus a recall on the brakes catching fire. EEK!!
