Which person are you saying that to, as there are a few on this post, i hope that it wasn't directed at me because if it is(i own a Deuce) you have not read my posts correctly. I have not said that i dont like choppers, infact i said that the enginering was out there(a good thing) and put together well except for the decompression button positions, and i would change a few things to make it mine. I also stated that it was "95k so i was told"...this is only second hand information that is why i did not make a definite statement and say it was fact.. If money was no object like this guys i would rather own 2 or 3 Harleys than just 1.
Quite the opposite Tapey, you're one of the much broader-minded contributors to this excellent forum! It's quite apparent that you have a sincere appreciation of non-standard designs even if they may be less "efficient" in some situations. I wasn't having a dig at Deuces.....I think they're excellent....... just a dig at guys who think that it's ONLY Deuces that are excellent!!
I'm pretty sure that the Big Bears have full Aussie Compliance which is why you pay a lot for them compared to say importing one yourself. The importers spend a fortune getting Compliance and at least deserve to get some of that expense back. It's a free market..... you don't HAVE to buy one....... but I wouldn't suggest importing your own!! Those Custom dudes are a hard bunch to please!
I agree with you about owning 2 or 3 Harleys instead....... at least you'd have a fair chance of getting a fair price on re-sale. I have no idea what the re-sale value of a custom bike is.
I'll probably get canned by some readers for even suggesting that re-sale value might come into the equation when buying a bike.......... I must slap my own wrists... ) hehehehe......
