Stock pipes - Begone

By the grace of the Grand Poobah, and my dogged determination - 3 months after I signed the deal on my bike, pipes, tuner and AC.... the fawking parts shall finally be fitted on Saturday morning.

This experience has been a compelling argument for buying the parts overseas and swinging the tools myself. Why I did not? ... well, at the time I was trying to control myself from throwing up after spending way over my percieved budget on a bike..."Oh come on mate, naaahh you HAVE to get the pipes and everything put on before you take delivery, you'll hate the bike otherwise"....

    Ok, ok....I'll buy it all.

3 months later.... and countless phone calls on my part. I'm finally on the way to getting the Harley I wanted.

So, what can I expect? Stock Dyna Streetbob....VH longshots, and SE tuner.

Ideally, i'd just love a little more noise. I almost got wiped out by a bunch of bobble heads because they didnt look, and obviously didnt hear me.

****Disclaimer, post is pretty pointless - but i'm kinda thrilled to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel****

Don't worry it will be worth the wait when you kick her over the 1st time.  I have the V/H Big Shots Staggered on my 2011 Wide Glide, just starting it puts a smile on my face.

Running the standard pipes it sounded like a Jap Bike and felt like a 1200.  With the pipes and the tune it now pulls like a train.

I have had the same experience with Dealers in WA, hence I did most of the work on my bike myself as every time I tried to organise someone to look at my bike I go the standard reply “Mate we are flat out be 2 weeks before we can even look at it”.  The WA dealers also have little if no parts on hand they all come ex eastern states and US.

The forum and internet are your friends.

You don't have to remove the primary to fit forwards

    All fitted on Saturday.

HOL-E-HELL.....I finally have the bike I wanted. It made ridiging to Blacktown in the rain, sitting there for 4 hours and riding home in the rain, washing the bike and putting it away....only to see the sun come out for the rest of the afternoon...WORTHWHILE!
