hi guys i have 95 1200 sporty went for a ride yesterday stoped @ mates went to start it again no gooooo.lol plenty of fuel no spark tested coil no spark to coil.. was thinkn stator .. any fuses that cut power to coil thanks ..ricko
Buy a workshop manual, a multimeter, and a compression tester its time to start learning, you will be able to teach yourselfand save a fortune and when you get stuck you will be able to ask the correct questions.
For now see if you have power going to the coil, if you have, swap coils with a known good one, if you had a manual and multimeter you could check the resistance on your coil to see if it was rooted.
Sorry if i come across as a smart ass, but if you own a bike you should put in some effort to learn.
older bike model, these ign system's do not last for ever if the ign system is over 4 to 6 yrs old then it will be more then likely that , put a crane hi-4 single fire in her there cheap these day's
turns over. tested the back of coil with multi meter when i was crankin it next ill disconect the kill switch on the coil have to get a manual cheers
hi sounds good ron where is your shop cheers mate
yes years ogo the crane H1-4 could fail . but these days are made better i found that if you use a domed points cover as so it 's not resting on the module box & give & air gap you will not have a come back, i havn't had 1 in 7 + yrs , the 1's that have failed can tell the cover gasket has the imprint of the module on it because flat type points cover , it's been rubbing when you do up the cover screws , i'am not a fan of asian parts rev-teck etc on american bike's but if there cheap & work
yer a big thank you to ron what a nice bloke knows his shit......
