hey guys im new to the forums i am yet to buy my first harley as im still on a restricted licence for a few more months. but after doing some reserch i think im going to go with a dyna wide glide as i am a taller rider and i am now riding a 650 ninja so would like somthing that still handles well around corners.

is this a good choice for a first harley? i know i should test ride it first  but they wont let me till im full licenced so would sitting on the bike be a good way of checking how it would feel on the road or is riding it the only real way to decide if the bikes right for me

oh an one last thing  vivid black or vivid black with flames :D www.harley-davidson.com/en_AU/Motorcycles/wide-glide.html#/c/pnw

i want too but ive already waited what feels like forever to be able to buy a harley the only way i could ride one now would be to try a private sellers bike an i dont want to waste anyones time as i wana buy brand new so i can modifiy it my own way. an i also dont want to wait because i go full licence in the middle of winter lol if i buy the bike then i wont get much time to ride it with melbournes shitty weather :/

My advice.... if you believe reviews etc. the Dyna Fat Bob is supposed to be one of the better rides......in saying that everyone on this forum seems to love their own ride for their own reason...you just gotta ride some to see what floats your boat.

Brad its a personal choice wait until you get your full licence and take a Dyna and a Softail out and see which one you feel more compatible with.I ride a dyna and have ridden a lot of softails and i have enjoyed both.I ride a Dyna now because i broke my back and neck in an accident and found the Dyna a little more comfortable on long trips. The bike i would really like to tour on would be a Road King but my money didnt stretch that far so one day i will get one.Well what ever you do get you will enjoy and here is safe riding to you.Welcome to the forum.

Gidday and good luck with your selection.

Take your time and enjoy the journey - the right ride will become obvious to YOU.

I read all the advice provided here before I bought my scooter.
    That's why I chose a Deluxe - EVERYBODY said SO !!!

Oh - and it has to be black, but of course that would be obvious as well.
