    Nope. Welcome to demin paint. The offical Harley blurb is that the demin paint is supposed to 'wear' and 'fade' like an old pair of jeans, giving a 'lived-in' look. Its the price you pay for having that cool matt black look. TC

    Just got my tanks done denim. Scuffed them before I even fitted, gutted.

    I understand the wear and fade thing but its mainly the little scratches that piss me off!!

     

    i agree with you buddy i think it looks good but its shithouse and a piss poor effort by harley!

    The denim paint work is actually supposed to show wear and tear, I've had my iron for about 2 years and i haven't and any problems with scratches, but it does scuff up from time to time!

    Ive searched on the net and read a heap about care of this paint, end of the day, its kid gloves stuff...scuffs real easy, love the look, but a bit peeved that mine got scuffed before I even got em on the bike!

    It looks good, seen some done like that, I like the flat black, just got the shits with how fragile it is. Im designing a job for my peanut tank, and will def do a gloss this time. The paint on the 72 has tickled my fancy. Leave the guards black and just do a flashy tank.....dunno, at some stage Im going to have to go back to the real world and start spending cash on things other than my bike.....just not this month!!!!
