Hi guys, Does anyone have any experience with the freedom performance independence shorty exhaust in relation to either quieting it down or using a quiet baffle out of another brand such as Vance and Hines? As Freedom don't do a quiet baffle.. I ask as I like the look of the exhaust (in chrome) on my Big blue pearl Iron, but it has a rather sharp crackle to the note that goes through my head while riding in the lower midrange such as around the burbs and town. It came with a form of removable baffle standard. Thanks for any help or recommendations!

Thanks, I'll have a proper look at thunder city baffles when I get home. I'll have to pull out and measure the current "baffles" and pipe diameter.

when I emailed BUB bout the same question for my pipes, they said stick some insulation in there, like pink bats! don't think i'll try that one.

I got some thin muffler fibreglass mating and tried to wrap the standard baffles, but there wasn't enough room left to put them back in. I even tried to wrap the fibreglass in tie wire, but still no go..
    I live in Brisbane.

Take the standard baffles to any decent exhaust place and ask them to tack a perforated cone over the leading edge of the baffle. This cone coupled with the fibreglass baffle mat from a Dirtbike store should really kill the crackle.

I took my iron to Motorcycle Exhaust Professionals just off of Moss st in Slacks Ck, they put the exhaust fibreglass around my baffles in my V&H short shots, sounds heaps better, and gave it a bit more punch off the mark, only cost around a hundred bucks,

The wrap itself can be purchased for less than $20 if your keen to do it yourself.

Does the perforated cone on the front give it a bit more back pressure?

Just finished putting the matting over my baffle. Tight but the matting purchased could be split apart to halve the thickness. Fired her up in the shed and I can pick a difference. What does the perforated cone do, just quieten it down more? I have a set of quiet baffles as well and might get them modified as calisis mentioned. I have v&h hs. Thanks for the ideas.
