Makes the front guard look a better fit. Noticed the diff in handling straight away. Done a few 1000 k's,prob half that in the wet,no wucka's. IMO,I reckon they are a good match.

na they make a 250 rear,(look good to replace the stock 240) tread pattern looks a bit ordinary, but they reackon they last alot longer than the stock dunnies? dont have any options up here though, dealers have to order them as i would, but they get cheaper freight. over all they make money. i found a guy in melbourne that has avons and can get em too me real cheap so im gunna contact him tommorow. worth a try. i can get em fitted real cheap so i will see how that pans out. i mostly just wanna stat away from dunlops

found out a 260 would fit my standard rim and just under the fender, without mods. but the issue is fitting on the rim(and possible the inner indicator attachments under rear fender?), my guy here tells me that it would change the profile of the tyre and would lead to unreliable wear and actually wouldnt be a 260 size? something to do with the pulling in of the sides when fitting, im not sure what he was on about there, anyway he didnt recommend. said to be safe go with the 250. still look good and at least u know it will fit safe. cant exactly take em back up here.lol

From what I've researched and been advised from some reputable shops 250s & 260s are designed for an 8.5 inch wheel, the stock wheel is 8 inches

Also there are discrepancies with claimed sizes, in fact when I was deciding on wheels & tyres I found the Avon 250 to be a little wider than the Metz 260

Also be aware of the fact that if you go for the wider tyre you may be kicking the tyre over to fit.

I went with a narrower belt & pulley to center the wheel properly

    ***this was just my experience.

well i ended up gettin the avons both front and back. the 250 rear looks awsome. Havent had a rewal chance to run em in yet properly with work and other stuff goin on but will this weekend i reackon, if weather holds. When i got em put on there wasnt much drama, they just suprised i was able to get em so cheap, with freight included$ 410 for both not bad considering here in darwin any suppliers want to charge between 330- 345$ for the rear alone. and was no choice. dunlop or... yes dunlop. The 250 went on ok and i rode it home and no problems so all good i think.

but i want to thank u all for ur advice this site has really made me think alot more about my bike and riding in general. now i just have to find a red club member to hang out with.lol. if they need members?

    Hey guys

any suggestions- would it be ok to replace a rear Dunlop on my rocker custom 2008 with Metzeler ME880, but leave the Dunlop on the front? The reason being my rear stock Dunlop is done just after 6,000 km, which is pathetic, but from Dunlop is ok
