hi there was wondering considering im new to this forum wether or not tyres have been discussed? i want some advice on purchasing some cheaper yet pretty good alternatives to the standard tyres on my 08 rocker. is due for a new set and local dealer wanna charge arm and leg for supply and fit. tryin to supply myself with a cheaper alternative. now im sure there are plenty of experienced riders and owners here that can help a new guy out. i hope

very true id like to support the locals but unfortunately it comes down to price in the end and if there wasnt much diffrence id be happy to but i can get a set and extra one for same price for set here, so money talks unfortunately. i think im gunna give it a go, i got prob another few mths left to run out the old ones and ill definately get em. prob will buy the extra rear leave in the shed. always handy to have one spare.lol. thanks everyone for ur advice has been very helpful.

I got a 250 on mine, and was told by a few shops that is the biggest to fit on without major/$ mods.  If you find out any different let me know.

yeah the stock dunlops are pretty shitty. ive done just under 15k on mine and realistically its not been hard riding, mostly commute and some outa town stuff. given the weather here there to softer compound i think. im sure ill go with metzlers i reackon seem to have a good rep.

what brand tyres u got on it mate, hard to find a 250 to match a front one with same brand, tried avon and metzler, dont have matching sizes (250 rear and 100 front) night dragons look ok have only in 240 though.

I'm running 100/90 19 Metz on the front @ 30 psi, and  Avon Cobra 250 rear @ 40 psi. Hope that helps. Happy Rockering!!

na ive got the dunnies on there now and although they done the job, would like to give something else a go. philthys set up is what im sorta after. prob go for the 250 avon. the 260 too big i think without major mods on back end. avon only ones who do a 250/40-18. the sell an avon 90/90-19 not the cobra, but still is cheap from US.

been doin alot of research and the night dragons got alot of coverage but seem to be not much better than the dunnies if u believe the forums in the US. They all rave on about the metzlers a fair bit but the rear only comes in 240 or 260. so i went the middle ground with the 250 avon, they use em on alot of choppers over there. they have the weird tread pattern but look ok

Makes the front guard look a better fit. Noticed the diff in handling straight away. Done a few 1000 k's,prob half that in the wet,no wucka's. IMO,I reckon they are a good match.
