H-D in the US have just released a new Sportster, Seventy-Two: http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Motorcycles/seventy-two.html
Looks like a chromed mix between the 48 and a Nightster.
I prefer the new Softail Slim which they've also just released.
Thoughts??
I love it, particularly because they've taken the ideas of every Sportster owner and commercialised it into product. HD dont even need an innovation department anymore, they just need to scour the web and look for what is popular amongst owners and than turn it into a mass produced bike!! How many owners put apes on Sporties, how many Iron owners have put 48 seats on their bikes, how many owners put whitewalls on their bikes, its all about common themes!! There is a black one listed in the pictures, its looks exactly like my bike........LOL, the only standout variance is the seat. Its denim black, with chrome spoked wheels and whitewalls............................
Love it

The Sporty '72 looks great. That red metal flake rocks. I don't reckon the mini-apes look the best, a set of drag bars would suit it more.
No wonder my local dealer was saying that HD Aust weren't bringing in the 2012 model Blacklines, they're obviously being replaced by the Softail Slim - Let's hope so! Agree with Convert about the clever marketing of the Sportster range, I guess the Seventy-Two pretty much reflects most of the mods done to a Sportster soon after purchase except the pipes. The red flake paint is pretty cool too. However, too much chrome for my taste, and those bars - hate 'em!
Bloke on the xlforums has some more info on it: http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=1365222&page=11
"forgot to add the XL1200V as for the V I was told this bike was called project Vato"

Looks like they are still using that grey on the engine the Nightster had, Added chrome to side and a few 48 parts.
Looks fantastic, love the apes
i guess at the end of the day you can turn your bike into what ever you like anyway. No harley looks good stock.
I think im in the wrong job just need a classier background and a little more chrome!
MY72 Sportster vs. MY12 72 Sporster - who would have thought?
