Not much of a write up but interesting none-the-less...

AN electric chopper motorcycle designed and built by Orange County Choppers of American Choppers TV show fame has been unveiled in Sydney today.

Looking like a cross between an iPod and something out of “I Robot”, the eChopper is a fully electric, high performance motorcycle.

On show at the Pacific2012 Maritime Exposition in Sydney today, the motorbike is able to reach speeds up to 160km/h and is exhaust free.

Siemens, which created the bike's electric power source, is claiming its technology could also power navy submarines and frigates.

''Siemens eChopper reinforces our Picture the Future of Mobility research, in that electric technology is a viable and sustainable fuel source for commercial ships and naval vessels providing defence, naval and maritime industries with significant productivity benefits and financial advantages,” said David Keenan, vice president of Siemens Australia.

But the stereo playing loops of the intro to Meatloafs bat out of hell on 11 would flatten the battery in minutes.

It looks good in the flesh but I dont know what I'd do for sound.
Might have to record my bike and play it on the ipod.

You would want it to make some sort of sound for safety reasons.
That's why we have/need loud exhausts.

I saw one over in Thailand last year at a show. It sounded like a sewing machine.

Plenty of guts though, they had a stunt rider doing burnouts, drifts and stoppies on it, it must have been well balanced. It wasn't for sale at the time, it was just a concept bike.
