G'day Fellas, Just contacted Mark from MandMCycles (US), to purchase a Thundermax unit for my new 2012 FXDWG. Received email this morning from him saying that they haven't released it for the 2011 soft tail let alone the 2012 dynas. His prediction is a fairly lengthy wait. This maybe old news to some, just posted in case others like me didn't.  Regards to all Frosty57.

In 2011 HD brought out a new set of ECM's for the Softail model only. These ECM's require new hardware and software to be able to work with it. We have been working on it for a long time as I'm sure ThunderMax has been but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel for us. If things continue at the current clip here we believe we will be able to start shipping product for these in mid to late March 2012. We have already missed several delivery dates but this time parts are already in production so it's just a matter of delivery from some of our suppliers that keeping us guessing, some.

For 2012 HD again changed ECM's for the Dyna and Softail! This makes the 2011 Softail ECM's a one model year only part! Guess they just want the aftermarket to keep guessing. Our new hardware and software changes will handle these as well but getting the calibrations for them may take a little more time than when we first release the 2011 product. My guess would be a couple weeks different. The 2012 changes will be handled on the Software updater that comes with the TTS product. The new hardware that fits these models is different than what we currently sell and it should be able to handle most anything HD can toss at us for awhile. It is also able to be field updated so as we release new features the people who have them can update them at home.

Thanks for the update on the 11-12 ECM. I can see HD changing all models to the new ECM. Will the new interface work on the older bikes ? Will the old TTS interface become redundant or will you keep it going with updates.

G'day Fellas,  That's pretty much how Mark (m@m), explained it,  ie: these models running new systems etc.  Pleased to here your on to it Steve. Thundermax/TTS, not set in stone which way I go, as I feel both systems have their values from what I can make out, the hardest for me is actually making the decision, :)  March is not that far off, hope things work out, keep us posted mate.

    Regards Frosty.

The new hardware has lots of power built into it. This was done to try and stay on top of things. Currently the new hardware will only be for the new ECM's. Over time that will change but for now we just have to get product to market for these new ECM's. We started working on all new Software about two years ago and at some point in the future the current software will be replaced as well. So the best I can tell you is that the new hardware and software will be for everything at some point in the future but I do not have an order in which things will change over, other than getting the new ECM's handled ASAP. One of the things we've done is to make it so the hardware firmware can be updated in the field so as we release new features for it those that own them will be able to update there's at home. I cannot talk about it all just yet but I know it should make most everyone happy once it's all done.

Sounds like the new interface is worth waiting for if you have a 2012. Good luck with the release in Feburary.
