Hi all, I have an old 86 sporty and have melted 2 speedo cables, its jus come out of the shop after getting a dyna 2000i ignition fitted and has been running like shit. 

 you  might have to check that she has & earth from the frame too the steering or tripple tree's , but make sure the cable has a few drops of light oil down it as well , what end is getting hot  top or bottom  the inner cable should have a little bit of endfloat  as far as inner lenght is concerned to the outer cable , check  wheel bearing con'd etc ,

the dyna 2000i is 1 of the worst ign system out there sorry too say, but maybe just not set-up proper & tuned ?  

 You might need to slowdown mate.
