    Guys and Gals

I want to remove the reflectors on my 07 custom sporty.

Iam not too worried about the ones on the forks, but I am not too sure about the ones on the rear guard.

Iam worried that it my damage the paint work.

Any ideas or methods to remove them without damage would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Paul

I've read somewhere on this forum about using some very thin string like the floss you use for your teeth.

When I took mine off, I pried it off just using a a screw driver with a cloth behind it- very carefully and

afterwards used a bit of degreaser to soften the the left over of the double sided tape and clean carefully.

G'day Paul, just did mine, the fronts I heated up with a hair dryer, then using multi grips, just prised em away, place some cloth on the back / under side that you are pulling to wards so as to not harm the surfaces, then I just rolled the double sided tape off into a ball. No residue to clean off & no marks on the paint.

    Good luck.

I did mine a while ago, like others have said best to use some sort of goo remover to soften the double sided tape and then slowly prize off. I used a narrow plastic spatula which worked well.

I thought about removing mine but after seeing the colour of a womans eyes that almost T-boned me at a round about and then being told later thats all she could see and that why she stopped there was no decision to make about whether they were coming off or not cheers.

My rear amber set were simple bolt on jobbies beside the number plate, the set on the forks stood seeing they are all black, once they were removed it cleaned up the whole front end.

I undestand what you're saying about being seen, on my last GS I had never thought of removing them as they suit the rugger'ed look of the bike, but I figure if the cage drivers don't see me then a small reflector ain't gunner make any differance.
