How comfortable are Ape Hangers for every day riding?

Hi, I'm wanting to get a Softail Blackline, and have seen a few for sale that are already customized, and one I noticed today had a set of high ball burleigh bars fitted.  I'm just wondering how comfortable are these higher bars for daily riding.  I have a 40km each way commute to work and love the look of these bars, but would they be suitable?

    Cheers,

    Anthony

I've got the Krome Works Sweeper + 2, they take the pressure off of my back, shoulders and align my wrists. They are real comfy everyday and especially on the long trips, south east Qld to Vic and to far west NSW.

I have rotor cuff in both shoulders from too long on crutches with a broken ankle. A regular ride for us is a 2 hour trip to Melbourne, a ride with a club on a poker or dice run and then 2 hours home. All with 17" apes, I was surprised at how comfortable they are.

Gotta say after having apes on my last Fattie and the stock bars on my Fatboy Lo now, I much prefer long rides on the Lo. I might be getting soft but a couple of hours with my hands above my head wasn't that comfortable. But each to their own.

I never thought I'd ever ride anything with apes but I recently switched from drag bars to apes

Much more comfy with apes & easier on the back

I recko it depends how high you go - just below shoulder height seems spot on for me. Short rides or long, comfy as.

I have apes on my Springer and swear by them - by far the most comfortable bike I have owned. As with any bars though, it is the relationship between the bars, seat and pegs that will determine how comfy you are.

    Cheers

    +1 ^

Before you go just swapping out the bars, look at the other components that make up your seating position. I like my bars a little higher that stock, but instead of swapping out for apes, I changed my seating position and put some risers on to lift the bars.

I wanted a new seat anyway for comfort, put on board extenders so I could stretch my legs, and 4 inch risers fixed the bars - now - its comfy as!!!

Bloody great it was one of the first things I changed on my 07 WG. Mine are at shoulder hight tho 16" with 3" risers don't think I would want to go much higher

Enjoyed the 14 Burleigh's I had on. Initially had some with built in risers but pissed them off smart quick as they followed the line of the forks which meant the bars were to far back at the top which in turn made me lean back (prefer straightish arms), swapped them out for knurled bars with stock risers, kinked them forward a bit and I was set, loved em. Recently changed again to road6customs 8" mini apes with 3.5" risers and am loving them to.
