OK, got over to SA recently and had Nev (Neville Lush Racing) dynotune the Fatbob.
The story went basically like this.........
Had a 2010 Fatbob running 103 SE stage 1, WFO Larry stage 1 heads, Woods 6 cams, TTS, etc.
Vtuned myself to within 5% of dynotune, then finished off on dyno for 98hp/114Tq. Ran great!............but then I wrote the bugger off!!
Bought a 2012 Fatbob, hoping to re create the same build and use the same tune...........but.........HD in their wisdom had changed the ECM and cable socket so the TTS won't tune it. (TTS are still working on this atm).
So, bought a SEPST and tried to import my TTS tune to it.
No end of trouble trying to get it running right, cranking pressure was way higher than previous bike for some reason, so decided to contact Nev and discuss with him.
Nev explained the problems with tuning a motor with high CCP and suggested a cam change to bring CCP down. We decided on the SE211 which sounded like it would suit my needs while reducing the CCP as well.
First thing Nev did when he got the bike was to check the CCP..........for some reason it was still fairly high (205psi).........were expecting around 195. Not ideal but still tuneable with a fair bit of work on the timing.
The end result was a bike that pulls harder than the other one, is much more responsive and runs smoother in the lower rev ranges. I am really happy with the result and, although we had to iron out a little bit of detonation in some areas since, which Nev has been quick to send over adjusted maps via email, I would highly recommend Neville Lush's services. He is passionate about what he does and will go the extra mile to please his customers.
In a Nutshell............this bike really cranks now!...........heres the charts..............red = when he got it, blue = when he finished.
Burto.
That's interesting you had trouble with the Wood 6 Cam. Everything you read say they love around 10.5:1 .
I take it your running flat tops and around 85cc heads ? Still using WFO's Stg1 heads ?
Nothing wrong with that Dyno sheet though.
Thought the 211's would pull a bit longer rather than flattening off so early , but they do build torque fairly early, but shame it dips..
No probs Nev, you are very welcome!
Have to thank you for helping to sort my tuning problems out and may I say it was a pleasure. I learnt a great deal from our discussions and observations.
I am absolutely gassed with the way the bike performs now, and your right, that dip is not noticeable, never snap to WOT at those low revs. 3500rpm is a different story!!
I'm sure Hilly and OZ can argue their own battles .... but both of these blokes have helped me out big time and both didn't know me from a bar of soap. So I'm pretty sure they're not here to put shit on peoples ideas, but they are here to help if you need it.
oh well... another good contributor gone... (well in this case a very valuable one)
had my bike dynotuned by lushy 95,211cams, mikuni,se heads got 99.23 hp runs very well starts easy totally impressed
