I just picked up my '07 1200 Custom last Saturday, and while looking over everything the last few days I've noticed that the gap between the rear tyre and guard on the left hand side is about 1" may be 1 1/2" but the gap on the right side is about 1/4". I've done about 500 ks since I got it, and it rides beautifully, no wobbles, shakes or anything  like that, so I guess the rear wheel is straight and true. is this common? am I in for some trouble? what could be causing it? ps. I have only checked it on the side stand, bit hard to hold up straight and check by myself. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Graham.

I would check a few bikes on the show room floor around the same year and see how the wheel lines up in the guard. I would also run a string line or a straight edge from front to back wheels and see how the alinement looks. Make sure ithe front and back wheels are square. Did you buy the bike from a dealer ?
