    Thanks.
A custom was my intention. Just that the frame is still so good...(vin is perfect) They NSW RTA reon they assess case by case (or should that be basket case by basket case?)
Ill throw out a line and see what i drag in...
    BTW
What is the rough cost of engineers inspections doing a custom on an after market frame ..? Scary??

You bought the bike back ?
Talk to Insurance Company with a Letter from Repairer,
See if you can get them to change from Stat to Repairable...
And just modify your frame the repairer should be able to
do that for you when he rapairs the frame,
problem solved less hassle and less cost ....

That sounds like a good plan..
I really like the look of the board trackers though.. was my concept initially..

These rules are designed to limit rebirth and a stolen car racket.
Gone are the days where you can opt to regain your stolen custom car etc and do it back up with your personal time and effort..Sentiment or limiting your time to be cost effective is not an option.

Much Legislation comes about in an effort to protect us ALL from the lowest common denominator: the DICKHEAD. Money is an incentive too and that brings into play Chopa's example above: the GREEDY.

Who the f*ck tapes a stem together and bogs it? That's right, the GREEDY DICKHEAD. Ya see how the two mesh together? And that is why we have these Laws.

The rules are in place to protect the unsuspecting who believe the crap that comes out of a used car salesman mouth. Yes there might be a honest one out there but he is the one who is making no money.

Take the scum bag thiefs like Blues Brothers Used Cars in Parramatta Road. I purchased a 2003 Landcruiser Wagon from them. Paid Cash, as i was about to drive off one guy says, “can i have the paper work back as he made a mistake with the KM”. So i handed him about 6 pages (all stapled together). 10 Min later he returns and said he fixed it now is all good. I drive back to Qld and 2 months later I try to register the vehicle up here. I am told by Qld Transport it cannot be registered as it is a Write Off.
I contact Blues Brothers Used Cars and what do you know, I have to speak to the manager who is out. He is out for the next 6 or 7 times I ring. I ring Fair Trading who tell me that they have to inform me that a vehicle is a write off. I check my paper work, (now 6 pages not stapled together) and there, in big bold letters, is the warning. This vehicle is a repaired write off. But then I notice, NO STAPLE HOLES IN THE PAGE. The scum bag switched the page. Anyhow after much stuffing around I got it registered up here. I will never be able to sell it as I have to declare it as a “Repaired Write Off”. $30,000 lesson. And to the thief at Blues Brothers Used Cars who sold me the car, you are a scum bag, and to me, dickhead who didn’t check the changes to my paper work.
