    • No application fee (until 3 February 2012)
    • Monthly maintenance fee of $5.00

To apply, you will need two payslips if you have a salary or two tax returns if you are self-employed.  If you have bad credit I won't be able to help, sorry!  Oh, and I need to write *Lending criteria applies*.  I can't gaurantee I can help but I will give it my best shot.

    Cheers.

Yeah, no doubt. 3% would be awesome...

With any financial product it is what best suits your scenario. With the credit union above, this will definitely suit some people more then what I am offering, I don't argue it and wouldn't try convince you otherwise. I have just had a quick look at one of the biggest credit unions in Australia (they are all going to be different) and they offer 8.9% but to maximise the benefit of that rate you have to know exactly how long you will need the rate for. If you want to pay it off earlier you will likely pay a fee, if you takes you longer to pay it off then the rate jumps to 14.79%. This is assuming a credit union product is an option which for a lot of people it won't be.

In response to the deal quoted, you are also limited to $25,000. Most people will probably spend more than that on a Harley and I can arrange a loan up to 120% of the puchase price. That way you can buy helmet, jacket, insurance etc and throw it all on the loan.

Regardless of all that, I encourage everyone to get the best deal to suit their specific circumstances. If the one I am offering is the best and you want to deal with someone with similar interests let me know.

    Hi Daniel,

How would you handle a long term self employed that can't write off another Harley on their business and hasn't got any personal credit rating due to the fact that their business has provided for them for many years ?

The other problem being is that most small business owners spend several thousand dollars each year with accountants that work towards advising their clients how to legally reduce their taxable income to, if successful, a level that is optimal, but may be well below that required by financial institutions to support a loan application on a personal basis.

Scenario; Their last two tax returns may show personal incomes that are in fact that low, that they are non-taxable, even though their business                          income is healthy.

Yeah, this is not an unusual scenario for people that are self-employed and a bit of a double edged sword in minimising your income tax.

Banks are heavily regulated by the government so whatever you tell the government you earn is what we have to accept as your income, particularly with the new responible lending laws making lending tighter and tighter after the GFC.

The lack of credit rating is not a problem but the lack of income is. If you own a home you could look at a low-doc home loan (minimum $20,000) for which you just need to sign a stat dec declaring your income. The interest and fees would actually be lower than a personal loan but you have to use a house as security, not a vehicle. Is this option a possibility for you?
