Yep, good work by the Coppers. He's not proved guilty but the volume of gear they've found has for sure stuffed the theiving operation.

    What a fuckin snot.
21 counts of being a thieving prick..And that's only what they "could' prove.

Fangio etc should put a letter of demand onto SYDNEY city Choppers for the price of his bike.....

Somehow I doubt if people will get their bikes back. What are they going to do, especially to the ones that bought a custom in good faith. And I don't think Fangio would be happy with a load of parts dumped on his door. I doubt if his bike is with this lot but with another rebirthing shop somewhere. In the end once they are gone they are gone for good.

As far as this bloke is concerned, if he is found guilty then take everything from him, home, car, clean his bank accounts out as proceeds of crime. The insurance companies can go after him to recoup their costs for the stolen bikes. But I suspect in the end he will get a whiz bang lawyer who will get him home detention, and a piss fart fine. However if the blokes who have had their bikes stolen are informed by the police that they have found their bikes they can put 2+2 = got the bastard.

The wording used my friends was "Could" not has, have,is , been or any other terminology that by passes the trial process.

On a related topic I recieved a call from the Police last week,Asking about a Honda XLR that I bought from an auction around August at a clearing sale.I had tidied it up and sold it on.
My buyer had found out that it came back hot after he tried to register it.Sorry to say and find out .
I didn't do a revs check and either did the buyer, neither did the auction house, nor the original vendor.
The cop said to me how I have to find the paperwork to prove my innocence of theft.WTF ????
I told the not so polite policeman that I didn't have to prove jack and if he wanted to charge me go ahead.
He then back peddled that I had to prove myself but said that until then I was a person of interest in motor theft.
When I sold the bike I showed the buyer my reciept and he even told the cops that fact. But I am still a POI !!! FFS
My buyer corroberated my story but the cop didn't want to spend time calling the auction house to again confirm I am not a tea-leaf.

I for one can attest the attitude of the cops in these matters,to be told/alluded to that your a bike theif isn't a real nice feeling.

Good news for the bloke that gets his bike back after 20 years all done up and ready for rego.
Bad news for the current owner putting in the effort and cash just to have to sue the person that can't prove their innocence.

The Honda was sold to me for 540 inclusive of gst and fees.
I sold it on with a spare parts bike for 850.
He then spent his own coin on it , how much I don't know.
getting around 40 back from the auction house would be the steam of the piss if ever that quote needed to be stated.
Does he look to the gov for his gst back?
at me for a 310 mark up minus the freeby roller?? which is basically cost to me.
It more than likely owes him between 12-15 hundy

I sure do feel sorry for him .
Happy for the original victim though.

hey thanks DR56 for getting me to read a thread & then finally realise its a year old!! Cheeky!  :-)

Raises the question tho... how do you end up knowing if these things are innocent/blow up or not?

E.g what Wayne metioned re trial by media, but I look now almost 2 yrs on and can't find anything regarding the outcome. Poor bugger or Ratbag?

Myabe someone with better search skills can answer

whats a moderator choppa? while i am here i feel i must comment on my impression of your very eloquent  vocabulary .   i am very impressed with your most eloquent vocabulary (hope i spelled that  correctly).  i am fairly new to this site and only bought my first harley  4months ago  and i must admit i could not be happier with the bike .   in fact it would not be an exaggeration to use the good old  metaphor HAPPY AS A PIG IN SHIT.  do you know anyone who could build me an extra long  rack to fit my swag on the back? (2002 fatboy).  i live in the gong.
