Went for a ride with the wife yesterday to Jarrahdale for lunch at the Deli. While waiting for the food to arrive a Jappa came screaming past due a wheelie. We talked about the crazy barstard with the amount of people on the road and the next corner. After finishing our meal we headed off. Sure enough the poor bugga didn't make it around the corner. Cars pulled up and a bloke on the ground. There were enough people there so we kept riding. Didn't want the missus freaking out and not wanting to ride her bike home. Glad I haven't learnt to lift the front wheel.

I love a good fast blast down a lonely country road now and again, but to wheely down the road in town or carve up traffic is inviting trouble from the cops and public.

An old mate of mine used to wheelstand everything everywhere, then he bought a Harley and now he just wheelstands that everywhere and he is not young anymore. He's had all the accidents and pins in his legs etc, etc, and I'd like to say something really profound at this point but it's just really good shit to watch. If he does eventually kill himself or make it harder for the rest of us with the federalies or whatever else, I still can't help feeling that he has refused to lay down for anyone over anything and that is what being a biker used to be all about.  I'm not saying that is a good thing, but he is a dying breed and I think that attitude is part of what drew me to ride bikes in the first place.  Maybe we do get wiser but we also get way older.
