looking for a windshield I can mount to the handlebars of my 2011 fat Bob. The drag bars are 1 and 1/4 inch and i can't find anything with a suitable bracket. happy to purchase a non harley after market whatever, but i want a "shortie" as i don't want it intefering with the lines of the bike. Only want it for the longer open country type runs, any ideas would be a great help,

    thnx

Hi Irish, I know this might be a bit late but the windvest bolts straight on to the bars and the 14" can be slanted back to give a sporty look...it actually works better in the wind when slanted way back

Just fitted a national cycle DX to my Fatbob, not a HD line but not badly priced and sporty. Got it from team moto for $189

I also have the National Cycle Deflector Screen DX. Purchased from MCAS for $189 also. Highly adjustable and removable within 30 seconds. Don't feel like a sail now on longer rides and does not look out of place.

Found some pics online when I went searching. Will try and attach one here to show you as I cannot remember the link.

now that looks alright to me and no where near the cost of some of them.

Did you need to modify the cut out???

Not at all. No mods necessary. It did take me about 2 hours of riding back and forth between highway exits near my house once I had it fitted as I was adjusting it for my height. As I said, it is highly adjustable so I have got it now so that the wind just nicks the top of my helmut and touches the tops of my shoulders.

Once you have it right though, 30 secs and it comes off. Pop it back on and no adjustment required. Set and forget as they say.

I have the 6" pull back risers on my FB.  Is there plenty of adjustment in the arms attached to the handlebar?

For the life of me I can't remember how long they are, and be fucked if I am taking them apart to check   Too much effort put in to get the sweet spot for my height.

What I will do though is post up another couple of the pics I have that show the deflector from another angle. In these pics, the guy has the rods fully retracted into the arms and by looking at the bike you might get some idea of the lengths.

You can always email National Cycle Tech Support to confirm. They have the option on their website.

Ohh ozymax, I forgot to add. When you asked about mods I forgot I added/glued some vacuumn hose around the edge of the corners at the bottom as I found when I got my sweet spot, when hitting bumps, the corners were hitting the bike.

Simple vacuumn hose fix.....sliced it straight down one side, superglued and slipped it on. Perfect!

I thought there was but you would have to double check their website to be certain. I may be thinking of one of their other model deflectors.

No, I don't look through the screen. I am 6ft2" so I see over the top of it. I have the screen sitting away from me so that it deflects the wind over the top of my head.
