hi people,.just a quick question about suspention, rear shocks to be more procice.

i am looking at replacing my rear shocks on my widey 2010, like the progressive 412-4041c full chrome cover 11inch.

standard shock is 12 inch, my question is do all you gooroos no if i have to do anything to the front springs?.

will i upset the handling of my bike lowering the rear and not the front?

    help appreciated...

lowering the rear 25mm will not affect the handling too much. Understandably it will be a little harder and your cornering is a little less. There are a lot here that have lowered the rear only on softails and conventional shokies. I once lowered mine 65mm at rear only, it was embarrassing going around roundabouts and got a little wallow on long sweeping bends. Lifted it up to 40mm and it fixed the wallowing. On my next Harley I only lowered the rear 25mm and didn't notice much anything.

Will you be riding 2 up much? the 11's can be an issue on some roads with someone on the back. I find 11.5" shocks are very good, currently using Progressive heavy duty 440's with no issues. As mentioned by Ol Skool change your front fork oil as well, I went up to a 30 weight grade and its pretty good.

all good then mate, I personally have not found any issues with handling over the years by lowering, just cant lean her over as much is the issue you will face.
