Post No 2 - cause am already desparate to get the sound JUST RIGHT.
Located Bayside Brisbane, aged OLD, finally convinced the trouble and strife to refinance the house to upgrade the swimming pool after receiving an improvement notice from the local council. So after alot of searching and booking a place on the LA boat for Febuary 2012 I found a beast that fitted the bill and bought the bones of my dream machine. It might take about 25 years to pay off - but who cares.
I have loved motorcycles all my life and have owned 2 (No) at various stages in my life before starting the this HD journey.
In my opinion the motorcycle is the modern equivalent of what fast horses were to our forebears. The finely polished chrome and contended burble of a big V-twinn might once have been the sweaty rippling muscles of a prime thoroughbred that my ancestors might possibly dreamed of owning.
I love the wind in my face and the road disappearing under my feet. I still love the sensation of being powered up a hill comfortable in the thought that I didn't have to walk or run up it or worse still push my bicycle up cause it was too steep to ride when I was a kid.
My 2007 Deluxe is a line through a highly ranked bucket list item which I purchase to be a keeper.
My kids had to be grown up before I could afford one or justify the introverted nature of it's purchase.
Performance upgrade pending, carefully selected USA imported bags almost on order and dangerously armed with the big fat HD book of bits and pieces I now throw myself headlong into the wonderful world of Harley Davidson ownership.
I must confess to an intensive period of "lurking" while I considered the information contained on this forum before finalising my purchase.
Hopefully I can add some more diversity to what is already a significant body of information, SPRUIK and OPINION.
If ever you should see me on the road - please don't be offended if I don't wave - cause I am concentrating on HANGING ON.
Thanks for the welcome steamer and HWG
