Hey, sorry to have another springer question - and yes I know about handling probs but I am looking for anyone who could tell me what are the particular specifications of the springer front end in the photo below. As my sign in name suggests I am into old things. My father had a Matchless years ago and I bought a  2011 883 Iron Sportster. I have older bikes but they just weren't getting me to where I had to go each week without the signs of it in my bike. I don't own a car - never have.  I bought a Sportster because it is the best old classic look that I have seen (besides the 48) What I like about this particular bike - (I hope the owner spots it)  is that it is not overdone but classic. I am going to put the springer on myself but are there certain specs that I need to know about. I am looking at Dyna and Paughco springer front ends.

All the best - hope this finds someone out there.

Hey mate, welcome to the forum!! Congratulations on your Iron, awesome bikes!!

With regard to Springer front end, I think you may find that Paugho are the only people out there doing a Springer that will fit late model Sportsters with no issues. The remaining models on the market all require you to 'notch' the frame; which could be problematic!!

Keep me in the loop though, I am would love to get my hands on a 2' under Springer front end for my Iron @ some stage!

    Cheers

Paughco, is the only straight bolt on but they are around the $2500.00 US plus Freight and Duty. I sell a Attitude Inc one that we have fitted to 2004 and up Sportsters, No you dont have to Notch the Frame as 883n said but you do have to Machine the Bottom of the Lower Tripple Tree and move the Tank Back, This is one of my Customers Bobby's 2010 Iron that Gworks Custom Cycles fitted

This is a great forum, great info coming in. I posted my original post it in two sections - one under "Sportsters and one in Workshop general" getting some good info, thanks  (883n Harley Convert) and  (Chopaweeza) great info -   I'm looking into those leads you've given me Chopaweeza.
