    Hey all,

    New here!

Have just gotten my license and been looking around for my first bike for some time now. I decided on an Iron 883 but have had some trouble finding a second hand model... I wanted a 48 but was restricted due to me not having a full license... After searching around for a bit I found 2010 Model, 2,500kms, Screaming Eagle pipes + buckshot header covers, Screaming Eagle air intake + filter, aftermarket chi / fueld injected.

Got him down to $11,000 so I am pretty happy with that considering I was about to just suck it up, buy a new Iron and have modifications done, saved myself almost $5000... And as far as I'm aware there aren't any major differences between the 2010/2011/2012 models, right??

Anyways hey and I'll post pics when I get the bike  ! ! !

Well done mate. I just bought a 2012 Iron 883 and it's pretty sweet as to ride around in... you get used to the power and the weight etc. pretty quickly though! Hence, the need for mods pretty much right away! Looking forward to see what she looks like buddy!

Thanks ppl! Quite excited, went helmet shopping today but couldn't decide on a full face / open helmet.

A lot of the open helmets make me look like toad from super mario... Whilst I'm not sure how the wider bike community will view me for wearing full face on a HD!

I have access to a non-legal open face helmet, with sticker (no patch on the inside), but I don't really think the fine / damage to my skull is worth it if and when i come off... I might just get it for cruising around, but a full face for longer rides :/

Hard decision but i don't think I will be getting the open face mushroom helmets no matter what...

Laps full face hemets are good on a long ride.On a short ride i wear a open face and if it starts to rain i put a mask on.Its a good idea i wear a mask so i dont scare the kids as i ride along LOL.
