I use the standard HD tyre on my 2010 Fatboy Lo, im getting 15,000ks out of my tyres and the Dunlop has been a good tyre for what I need.
I have no idea how anyone can get 15,000k out of an original rear trye, they do so it must be me lol ....... The original dunlop i got about 8000k on have run pirelli night dragons front and rear since then and love em. Not exactley sure on mileage for the nightdragon let say around 12k or a bit more for the rear.
Got 10,000k out of stock harley dunlop down to wear bars ,they have just releasd some michies no idea on mileage out of them ,but it will depend on how you ride.
I managed to get 9000km out of the original Dunlop, and I am currently giving the Metzler 880 a go after reading the US HD Forum. The forum users in the US seemed to be getting 10000 easily, but they are talking about miles. The other learning was how critical tyre pressues are. I was a bit slack and assumed they were actually being checked when the bike was serviced, but found out they were not. The state of the roads in Australia does not help either for getting good milage when compared to other countires. They all seemed around the same price so went for the Metzler and always found Metzler to be the best motocross tyre many years ago.
Pirelli Night Dragons on mine. Price was right also from the local Yamaha dealer, HD was almost twice the price. Original Dunlop lasted 12000kms.
You're right. That is definitely a major factor and it's worse with a passenger on board.
Hi all...Ive done around 4000klm on my standard Fatboy low and the rear tyre is just about fucked.Maybee another 1500klm and bald,If im lucky.
