So I'm seriously thinking of selling my 2011 48.. I don't own a car and really at the present it's a choice of the music scene or bikes.. I'm really going to have to go with the music stuff! Need a gig pig! 

Pity you weren't a month earlier, my brother in law just went the opposite. He's had enough of band politics and sold his SR Hilux with about 40k on the clock for $11500, would have been perfect for ya Mow!!

I went broke in the music scene and was with out a bike for 7 years, nearly killed me .

seriously have a think about it ,if your doing originals in Australia your chances are very slim no matter how good ya band is .

if ya makin money from the cover scene buy a shit heap hatch back .

Oh it's not about making money.. Or trying to 'make it', not that at all. Just rather be playing music at the moment, cost of owning a car and a bike is just a killer these days.. $640 reg+ insurance every month.. Can't justify 2 vehicles.
Bikes come and go, hell.. It's just a bike, there will always be other bikes.

Yeah, it's no great life or death drama, I'll just buy another bike in a few years time, I haven't been without a bike in 17 years, I also have a tram stop 1 min walk from my house that takes me right to my office door.. In less time usually than it takes to ride to work!
I've made do with just a bike most of my 'licence life', at this point in time, hard to do without a car.. Things will change!

Just pay for storage at your rehearsal place, and throw petrol money to a bandmate when they have to grab your stuff with theirs. I have done that, or mix a support band for free to lend a speaker box etc for years to keep a bike and no car (since it was stacked into). Even shelling out for a cab every few shows has still been cheaper than having a car (reg/ permit/ parking/ damage) in the city.
