    Good to hear all is well mate, i have the short shots as well, my quiet baffles are still in their box, i don't find it that loud but i do suffer from very slight deafness at certain frequencies (thanks to working on/around drag cars) from what i understand (i havnt personally tested them) but the quiet baffles rob a bit of power.... As for the rear suspension if you want it low look at burley 10.5" rears, and as suggested you might want to look at trying to get that seat a little lower....

     terristone thanks for the information.  I think I will order a set of 10.5" shocks for the rear in the next month.

    Thanks to you and Rocky2010 on the seat height. I certainly will look at lowering the seat height, currently the seat is on a 4" shocks so there is some room to play with, maybe 2" springs.  I am sure it would would be better and look good as well as Scouser said the angle of the shocks currently is wrong. .

    Very nice mate!

    I bought my 2012 Iron 883 (black denim) just before Xmas (also for my own Xmas pressie) and ensured I had at least the following done before delivery...
    - Screaming Eagle Heavy Breather
    - Vance and Hines Short Shots
    - Screaming Eagle race Tuner (need to wait until I get to 1600kms & first service before they install the performance chip or whatever they call it.. not far off it, I've only had the bike for a few weeks and I've almost done 900kms already!)
    - straight drag bars
    - mirror relocation
    - changed derby cover to Harley Davidson (skull) in mat black

    Can't wait to also do the following:
    - 2 Inch tank lift;
    - Coil and Key relocation;
    - Speedometer Relocation Side Clamp Kit;
    - 3" Lowering Kit;

    So much fun to be had on it buddy... let me know how you go with 'passer-bys' as you roar pass and also when parking... it does command a lot of attention, even when you don't seek it! So enojy and ride safe!

    Cheers,

    JD

    Looks great, love the rigid look.

    Don't worry abouit the baffles for the short shots. I don't have them and love it!

    Scouser helped me change my front brake caliper to the XR one. Cheapish mod that is really worth it.

     terroristone, thanks for your advice.  I have now moved the seat forward to the tank, this had the effect of straightening up the seat shocks and after a bit of a test ride over the same roads i took yesterday this has improved the ride immensly.  Thanks for that.

    I have added a picture of the outcome, not the best - taken in the garage.  I have ordered some new springs for the seat to reduce the height.

     JD and Rick48, thanks for your comments. It is amazing how customisable this bike is according to your individual tastes from ape hangers to broomsticks you really dont find bikes as versitile. It does indeed create a bit of attention.

    Rick your right there is so much good information from people on the forum and everyone is happy to help, a good place to hang out.

     looks like will work alot better now. is there a way to mod the lower brackets on the shocks/springs so that they mount closer to the cover plate, or cut holes in the plate and try to put the lower mount on the underside so it brings the seat lower down?

     OK back to work tomorrow for me, so installed my iPhone ram kit on the bike couple of pics below.

    bad pic I know, had to use my iPad as my iPhone is in the RAM kit. iPhone has TomTom navigation on in photo but you cant see it on the screen at all. Detox Beats off handlebars for display purposes only; ie a photo for someone else for a different purpose.

    Better pic of the mount

     Andrew, I will have to put up with it until the new 2" springs come in and I will see how they look.  For sure that will definately bring the seat height down closer to the frame.

     one_oak, Its a ram mount iphone 4 cradle with a motorcycle mount and an additional angled ball mount.  I have mounted it on the tank lift kit bracket.  I have had it on my other bike for a year and took it off before I sold it.

    Its a nice looking mount and works off the side even with a full lock on that side and just as good is it takes less than 30 secs to take off and put on bike when you park it.  Basically it is this:

    plus  this     mounted on this.

    Never had a drama with it.

    ahh awesome, thanks man. Been looking at getting something that didn't mount to the handle bars for ages. What do you put on your phone to stop it getting wet? or don't use it in rain?

     Yes, I do hate the mount on my handle bar look.  I got my set from www.gpscity.com, you will get the handlebar mount as part of the kit - I still have my parts in a bag. So the angled Ball mount is the key.

    I don't ride with it in the wet, if it starts to rain while you are riding you can clip the phone out in a matter of seconds.

    When you park your bike, four twists of a lever will have the mount off in a matter of seconds.  The mount comes in black and looks good against the iron black frame.

    The two apps I use when it is mounted is tomtom navigation and night stand which is a clock and weather  app and doesn't turn off.

    3 weeks can seem a long time, I spent my waiting time buying stuff so i could have it ready the day i got it, hence the 24hr project. i got my struts from ebay about $60 delivered, it drops the rear about 4 inches which to me looks nice.  I dont have any further info on the standard harley ones.

    I am hoping to see some pics of the bike posted soon after it arrives, i never get tired of lookig at these bikes.

    Shredrat, its amazing what these iphones can do and display these days and at a fraction of the cost as well as the shear portability of it as well.

    i have been recently looking at guageface that with an interface reads and displays guage data in real-time. That looks awesome as well.
