Guys,

I have been playing with the Mastertune and struck a problem with the MTE file extension.

In the window "Select Mastertune-HD Restore Filename (from the "Mastertune HD" thumbnail on desktop),  at the very bottom there is 2 boxes were ypu are asked for a "File Name" and below that box is the "Files of Type" box.

The "files of Type" box has as its default file type MTE, and this is the issue! there is no choice for MT7 or MT8 file types.

Does anybody have a way around this so that I may process a MT8 file type here? I would dearly love to run as my default cal file the one I have tweeked, be it ever so gently, but never the less this is my preference.

Downloaded the latest of the greatest 4 days ago, apparently other people have experienced the same problem. I am hoping that some one may have pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

If it's the OEM calibration you're talking of, it is the file (MTE) type so is saved as such.

Save & back up this file & keep a copy on a flash drive or 2 & store it, say in a box with the TTS dongle & cables, or something

The MTE map can't be changed you need to save that map on a memory stick in case the dealers need to use there digital Technition on your bike. With out restoring that MTE file back into the ECM the DT will fuck it. Start with a fresh MT8 map and tune from there.

I have actioned all that you have suggested above, I was interested to know if there was some way that one could override the "File Type" check box in the "Select Mastertune-HD Restore Filename " where there is only one option, and that being MTE file type.

The MTE is a HD map nothing to do with the TTS. I dont think it's posable to open and view these MTE maps so you would have buckleys changing it.
