Just out of curiosity , I was hoping to hear from someone who has ridden both set ups in similar weighted bikes, a 96" with 204's, and a 103" with 255's. Whats your opinion on both set ups? - from everything I've read, tune permitting, power / torque levels seem to be similar?

You would probably best be served if you posted this query in the EFI-Tuning forum, a good question as I would like to hear opinions myself.
If you do not hear anything, it may pay to PM Ozroder, he is certainly a goto man on HD camshafting.

Steve can you tell me about your 103" / 204 build? - I'm putting the parts together now to do a similar set up on my 11 Street bob. Althpugh I have've planned on headwork. - I have thought about 030" HG's though, what did you use? - Also what tuner are you running? - Also do you have comp releases?

the SE 1.725 make a bigger difference than just swaping from a 204 to 255 se. i was lucky enough to see a direct comparrition. se 204 se255 in EFI softail same dyno same bike no changes to motor or tune only about 1hp difference 204 to 255. then fitted se 1.725 ratio rockers saw a 10hp 10 ft pound Tq gain ( bloody good gain ) made Tq quicker too. so i would say 204 & that ratio rocker would be a great combination. even with stock heads

I'll look into the rockers. - I've seen them mentioned quite a few times in on other US forums, sounds like they are are a worthwhile investment. I priced them once, I think they were like $299 aud rrp?

Why not just buy a cam with a higher lift instead of adding extra cost of rockers. There's more than SE cams for these later 96, 103 engines as they will handle up to 600 lift dependent on base circle

Steve, did you alter your tune when you swapped the rockers out and then back in?
