So I got some BUB Sidecutters for chrissy, and becuase i'm not very good at anything mechanical and my brother is, I had him install them yesterday. Of course by the time they were done I was over the limit, so today i had my first ride on em, back from my folks place to mine.

These things a WAY loud. I passed a breath test set up on the way home, luckily it was on the other side of the road, but I got looks from the cops. I can't imgine it'll be to long before i get pulled up for em.

But they look great and the sound is amazing. Makes my Iron sound like a champ now. I might have a look around to see if there are quieter baffles for it though, knock it down from 11 a little bit.

I'll post up a video and sound clip tomorrow probably for those that a re interesteed. It'll be a proper sound clip too recorded with a portable audio recorder. none of this iphone busniess. see if i can manage a dB reading too! here's a pic until then.

 

Sensational mate, they look good, did they come from the US? Keen to hear them....how hard was it replace the exhaust? Ive got a set coming from US, hoping to do it myself, not very handy either, but learning fast.....congrats again on the pipes, they look cool

looking at pic 5 I see the pipe comes across the air intake ,does this mean the bike is sucking in hot air ? does it matter if it does ?

I guess it sucking in hotter air than it was before which probably isn't great, but i doubt its doing any noticeable harm. Once i get a new one on there it should fix it up anyways.

haha yeah, thats it. Love that film. found out the other day that, on the Rotten Tomatoes website that's the only movie you can rate out of 11.

I recorded some audio today, though i forgot to give it a good wind up so its basically just the idle sound with a slight wind on at the end. I wasn't going to record video, coz i didn't have my camera handy, but I ended up recording video on my iphone and audio through my portable recorder. You don't really get a sense of the loudness either..maybe if i had another bike handy for comparison you'd hear it better... so just turn up your speakers REALLY LOUD!!

they're going good. still kinda loud, but i'm used to it now, so i only realise its loud when other people say "Fuck, thats loud!"
since putting in the xied thingo the popping has reduced a lot, but still happens on the odd occasion. mostly at higher than normal decel revs though. i think the combo of the pipes and xied has given it a little more power, but nothing to write home about.

 

Looks good & sounds good. The more I see these beasties the more I like 'em. I reckon they'd make a good rat bike too - they have that bare necessities look about 'em. In fact they wouldn't look outta place on a 'Mad Max' set.

 

I know this is an old thread but just thought Id check in and see how ya going with the pipes ,any thoughts ?

also do you know if the stock rear peg mounts will fit on with those pipes and ....lastly do they scrape easy ? .....
